Spectacled Bear
The little bear known as the spectacled bear is so named for the white circular markings which
encircle the eyes. As if ready to read a good book, the spectacled bear dons his glasses. The
spectacled bear reaches 5 to 6 feet in length, and stands only 30 inches at the shoulder, making it
one of the smallest members of the bear family. Nevertheless, the spectacled bear is quite a
spectacle as it has a thick black or brownish black shag coat and can weigh 300 lb. MORE!
