Both the claws and loose lips are useful as the sloth bear feeds on termites. The sloth bear is able to tear open a termite mound and suck the animals from inside. Rather than licking up the animals, as most termite eaters do, the sloth bear inhales deeply, sealing off the nose. The diet of the sloth bear also includes carrion, eggs, fruit and foliage. MORE!
