Sea Otter
The sea otter has tragically been persecuted by humans to the brink of extinction. Highly valued
for the soft, thick fur early European settlers hunted and trapped the sea otter. In 1910 the risk of
complete extinction was so high that the American government put a ban prohibiting the capture
of sea otters. Unfortunately the population of sea otters has never been restored. Reaching lengths
of approximately 4 ft, the sea otter can weigh up to 80 lb.MORE!
