Jaguar
The largest of the American cats is the jaguar. It reaches an average size between 5
and 6 feet in length, with an additional 3 feet of tail. This cat may weigh up to 300 lb.
The jaguar is easily recognized by the pattern of its coat. Similar to that of the leopard, the jaguar
has dark spots which form a circular pattern around a central spot. The background colour is
yellow, growing paler on the underside. On occasion, black or albino jaguars are seen. MORE!
