Jackal 2

The diet of the jackal is quite diverse including carrion, gazelles, hares, insects and fruit. The jackal hunts animals in much the same manner as a dog. Jackals commonly chase their prey to the point of exhaustion snapping at the hind quarters. Jackals bear 2 to 7 young in a burrow. As other members of the dog family, there is a strong bond between the parents and the pups. Jackals are found in Africa, Europe and southern Asia. [BM] {FW}
