Jackal
There are 3 species of jackal: the side-striped, the golden and the black-backed
jackal. Each species is distinguished from the other by
the colour of the coat, as described by their common names. Jackals range in size from 22 to 29
inches, with a bushy 9 to 14 inch long tail. These lanky animals, with large ears and small,
slender heads hunt primarily at night. Moving about in pairs or individually, jackals prefer
