Fennecs have thick fur, soft brown in colour with white underparts. Like the fox, the fennec has a large and bushy tail. Aside from feeding on small prey such as snakes, gerbils, fennecs are able to capture prey larger than themselves, such as hares. Fennecs are one of 14 carnivores found in the Sahara. It is the only one able to survive without a water source. Fennecs are primarily found in the deserts of North Africa. [BM] {FW}
