Bushdogs will pursue their prey on land or water, as they are very successful swimmers and seem to find great pleasure in the water. Tame bushdogs have even been trained to dive and retrieve items submerged in the water. There is still much mystery to the habits of the bushdog, as this carnivore is elusive in its natural environment. The bushdog is nocturnal, living in grasslands and wooded areas of South America.
