Wild Boar
The domesticated pig from which we acquire pork has arisen from two wild species, the European
wild boar and the Chinese wild pig. The wild boar will reach an average length of 4 feet and
stands 3 feet at the shoulder. These stocky animals may reach weights up to 420lbs. Wild boars
can easily be recognized by their short, bristly fur and their upward turned tusks. Wild boars often
search for food under the cover of night.MORE!
