Pygmy hippos are shy animals which live in solitude or in pairs. When disturbed they run to the undergrowth; whereas the cumbersome hippopotamus heads for the water. Pygmy hippos live in Liberia, Sierra Leone and southern Nigeria where there are forest streams. All hippos are found near water. [BM] {FW}
