Hippopotamus
Weighing in at 4 tones the hippopotamus is the second largest land animal, preceeded only by the
rhinocerous. Hippopotamus may reach up to 14 feet in length and stand over 4 feet at the shoulder.
The massive body of the hippo is sparcely covered by hair and has a thick layer of fat just below
the skin. The skin oozes an oily substance which is known as pink sweat or blood sweat. This oily
