Sorry, No Picture! For many years there has been tremendous confusion over the ancestral heritage of the okapi. Some scientist claimed the okapi to be a last living relative of the horse, while others claimed it to be some unknown species of antelope. It was not until the 1900s when it was finally given its rightful place within the giraffe family. This unique ruminant is found in the Congo rainforest.Back to Okapi. [BM] {FW}
