South American Deer 2
Brockets graze on grass and eat green shoots. The brocket is well camoflagued by its reddish brown coat.
The stag has short, pointed antlers with no tines. When a brocket is freightened it remains
motionless. Brockets breed throughout the year, with a single calf being born to a cow. The calves
have a spotted coat at birth. The other four groups of South American deer are marsh, pampas,
guemals and pudu deer.
