Pere David's Deer 3
Here they flourished and reestablished a
small herd. Pere David's deer are said to have the tail of a donkey, the hoofs of a cow and the
antlers of a stag. They are unique as they grow two sets of antlers every year, one in the summer
and one in the winter. They enjoy wading shoulder deep in water and feed on both land and water
vegetation. They stand approximately 45 inches at the shoulder and have a soft brownish-red coat.Back to Pere David's Deer.
