Chinese Water Deer 2
The tusks of the male Chinese water deer are quite long,
reaching well below the lower jaw. They stand no more then 22 inches at the shoulder and weigh
between 20 and 24 lbs. These small deer have no antlers. They are shy and are able to remain
undetected in tall grass and thickets. The soft brown coat of the Chinese water deer turns dark in
the winter and provides good camouflage.MORE!
