Caribou 3
Caribou live in herds
numbering 5 to 100 members. During the annual migrations these herds come together, forming
huge herds with many thousands of caribou. In North America both the Athabascan Indians and
the Eskimos have been dependent on the migration of the caribou. The caribou have provided
these people with the necessities for their survival. The caribou population of North America and
Siberia has severly depleted.Back to Caribou.
