Caribou
Caribou and reindeer share many similarities. After years of questioning, it has been concluded
that reindeer are the domesticated species of the wild caribou. The wild caribou is larger than the
reindeer. It stands between 4 and 5 feet at the shoulder and a full grown male may weigh up to
700 lbs. The thick, warm coat is comprised of a woolly undercoat with longer guard hairs. The
colour of the fur ranges from white to black.MORE!
