Llama
Llamas are descendents from North American camels. Fossilized remains of camels reveal that
over the last 45 million years various species of camel migrated into South America and into Asia
over the land bridge which once existed where the Bering Straits are now located. The survivors of the
camels which entered South America are the llamas. Included in the South American llama family
are the alpace, guanaco and the vicuna.MORE!
