Sable Antelope 3
The ears of the sable antelope are large and this antelope has a mane
running along the neck and upper back. They can be found in open bush country where they form
herds of 8 to 40 individuals. The herd is composed of females, offspring and a bull which will
fiercely protect his harem. Resting during the day, these antelope feed on
ground vegetation at dawn and dusk. Sable antelope range from the Transvaal north to Angola
and southeastern Kenya. Back to Sable Antelope.
