The majestic sable antelope was not saved from the hands of these new Dutch immigrants. With greatly reduced numbers the sable antelope and the giant sable antelope live on the edge of extinction. The sable antelope is an exceptional creature with long, ridged horns. Curving back and tapering to a point, the largest sable horns measure 70 inches.
