Musk-ox 3
The musk-ox has been hunted to the point where its existence was threatened. Weighing 500 lbs,
with valuable fur, made the musk-ox a valuable treasure to hunters. Reproduction is slow, with
a calf born to a cow every other year. Cows do not become mature until they are 4 or 5 years of
age. Musk-oxen are now protected. The Musk-ox ranges from Arctic Canada to Ellesmere Island. Back to Musk-ox.
