The Siberian ibex will graze at heights up to 17,000 ft above sea level during the warmer months of the year. When the snow makes travel harder on these high slopes the ibex moves downward, inhabiting sharper sloped mountains where there is less snow. Ibex lives in herds numbering 3 to 40 members. When the weather is most severe up to 200 ibex will form herds. In these large herds, the ibex move up and down the mountain in search of grass, herbs and leaves. [BM] {FW}
