Gnu 2
The horns of the gnu bend out sideways from the head and curve upwards.
Gnus feed primarily on new grass, following streams during the dry season where new shoots
occur. Gnus seek shade and rest during the hottest part of the day.
Gnus are abundant on the Serengetti, second only to the 8 million gazelles. The large herds of gnu
provide food for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyaenas and wild dogs. Gnus are found in the southern
regions of Africa.
