Gerenuk 3
Having a long neck is not the only peculiar
feature of this gazelle. Gerenuks will also frequently stand on their hindlegs. With their bodies
held in an upright stance it can be imagined that these mammals were the inspiration for the satyrs
of Greek mythology. Gerenuks are found in the dry regions of southern Ethiopia, Somalia and
