Chamois
The chamois is classified as a goat-antelope. The chamois stands approximately
32 inches at the shoulder and is approximately 4 feet in length. This sturdy mountain animal may
weigh up to 90 lbs. Both sexes have horns which rise vertically from the head and turn back at the
tip. The horn may reach lengths of 10 inches. The coat of the chamois is long and woolly. In the
winter it is brownish black, turning much lighter in the summer. MORE!
