Great Hammerhead
The hammerhead shark has a distinctive head with wide lobes on either side. At the end on each lobe
is an eye with nostril located just behind it. What advantage this shark has with its peculiar facial
structure is unknown. It has been theorized that these broad lobes assist in balancing or help the
hammerhead turn sharply while travelling at great speeds. MORE!
