HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Quetzal

Sorry, No Picture! The quetzal is perhaps one of the most beautiful birds. From beak to tail the quetzal is approximately 14 inches in length. Long feathers lay over the quetzals tail. These feathers of iridescent green trail behind this bird as a royal train. The wings likewise have green iridescent feathers which gently cascade over the quetzals red breast. The head is crested in final glory. These stunning birds are found in the forests of Central America living among the dense foliage of the rain forests (with the gods), feeding primarily on berries. The quetzal is the national bird of Guatemala. [BM] {FW}
