This photograph captures an immature snowy owl. It is 8 to 10 weeks old. Adult snowy
owls have yellow eyes; and the legs and even the claws are covered by feathers. Snowy owls
range in size from 20 to 24 inches. They feed primarily on small animals such as lemmings,
rabbits and mice.
