The largest of the penguin family, reaching 3 ft in height, the Emperor penguin is a regal bird on land and a skilled diver in the water. Feeding on fish and squid, adult Emperor penguins have warm coats of black and white with a royal collar of orange and yellow. Emperor penguins give birth to a lone young in the middle of winter.
