HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Kea

Sorry, No Picture! The kea is a parrot that is found exclusively on South Island, New Zealand. On South Island they have been severely hunted as the government has offered since 1886 a bounty for each beak brought in. Keas are known to kill sheep by ripping the skin open with their very sharp, hooked beak, to eat the fat underneath. These wounds on the sheep often become infected (death as the final result). Keas are approximately 25 inches long and are predominantly green with markings of orange and red. [BM] {FW}
