The Grebe is an odd looking water bird with long neck and short tail. Many of the 18 species of grebe are characterized by a large plume of feathers on the top of the head, giving this water bird a very distinguished appearance. The largest grebe, the Great Crested Grebe, reaches a length of 42 cm. This photograph features a Little Grebe. [BM] {FW}
