The gannet is an oceanic bird and a successful flier. They mimic boobies in feeding style, diving from the air at great speed to catch fish. The gannet has a thick skull to protect the brain as it hits the surface of the water at speeds up to 100 mph. They live out on the water and come to shore only during breeding season. MORE!
