Wood-warbler
There are approximately 113 species of wood-warblers. Ranging in size from 4 to 7 inches,
this small bird is generally inconspicuous with grey or brown plumage. The more brightly
coloured wood-warblers have yellow, orange or black and white plumage. The wood-warbler is
known in North America for its spectacular migration. Migrating in large flocks, often in
combination with tits, the wood-warbler migrates quickly, able to cover the distance between
Florida and Alaska in one month.
