Waxbill
The small and colourful bird known as the waxbill is found in Africa, with one species found
in Asia and one species found in Australia. Reaching approximately 4 inches in length the
waxbill has a round, plump body. Often forming large flocks outside of breeding season, the
waxbill is a gregarious bird. Waxbills are commonly found along swamp lands and rivers where
they feed primarily on grass seeds.
