There are approximately 60 species of tit birds, which are also commonly known as chickadees. The common black capped chickadee of North America reaches approximately 4.5 inches in length and has a small, round body. The body plumage is grey while the cap and throat are black and the cheeks are white. The North American chickadee is found in woodlands and in gardens.
