There are about a dozen species of redstarts. Two of those species, the common redstart and the black redstart, are found in Europe. The rest are found in Asia. The common and black redstart are approximately 5.5 inches in length and have warm brown plumage on their rumps and tails. Redstarts feed primarily on flying insects.
