Sorry, No Picture! Mannikins comprise a group of small birds found in open country in the tropics of Asia, Australia, Africa and Madagascar. The largest of the mannikin family is the Java sparrow reaching 5 inches in length. The average size of the mannikin family is 4 inches in length. Mannikins feed primarily on seeds and grasses. Some mannikins collect fallen seed from the ground while others climb strands of grasses to collect seeds. Most mannikins have plumage of brown, black and white. [BM] {FW}
