Honeybird
The group of birds known as the honeybirds include such species as the stitchbird and the
friarbird. In total there are approximately 160 species of honeybirds. Almost all the birds
included in this group eat nectar and fruit. Many honeyeaters have long, narrow beaks with
tubular tongues. Honeybirds are found in Australia, New Zealand and islands of the southwest
Pacific, including Hawaii.
