The Limpkin is found in Florida, southern Georgia, and in parts of South and Central America. Living in freshwater marshes and swamps, the Limpkin feeds on snails and small animals. Limpkins have long necks, long legs, and long, curved beaks. The Limpkin stands 2ft and is green-brown in colour. The Limpkin is also known as the 'mad widow' or 'wailing bird', for its bone chilling cry. [BM] {FW}
