Grouse
There are 18 species of grouse, the majority found in the northern hemisphere. Grouse have
stocky bodies and feather covered legs. They appear in many earthen colours and several
species have flashy inflatable air sacs on the chest. Grouse are ground dwelling birds which
feed on leaves, seeds, berries and occasionally on insects.
