Sparrowhawk
The goshawk and sparrowhawk are close relatives. They both are characterized by their long
tails and blunt, rounded wings. Like other birds of prey, the goshawk and sparrowhawk have
splayed feathers, much like fingers, on the edge of their wings. The goshawk is
significantly larger than the sparrowhawk, approximately 2 ft longer. Both the goshawk and
sparrowhawk seem juvenile to the large and powerful golden hawk, which can reach 36 inches
in length.
