HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Lammergeier

Sorry, No Picture! The lammergeier is a member of the vulture family. Like other vultures the lammergeier feeds primarily on carrion. With incredible ease and ability the lammergeier soars through the air searching for dead animals. Being cowards they often are left with only bones to consume, once the more forthright animals are satisfied. The lammergeier will drop bones from great heights, causing them to crack and expose the marrow. Bone marrow appears to be a favourite food of this vulture. Lammergeiers have a wingspan of 9 ft, brown or black body plumage, with white plumage on the head. This large and crafty vulture can be found in southern Europe, the Middle East, India and parts of Asia and Africa. [BM] {FW}
