Turaco

There are about 18 species of turaco. They range in length from approximately 13 inches to 2.5 ft. They are characterized by their long tails and short, rounded wings. With the exception of one species all turaco are crested. The plumage is grey or brown, often with markings of green or red on the wings. Turaco are found in Africa, only habituating areas with dense foliage.
