HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Cuckoo

Sorry, No Picture! There are many species of cuckoo, the Common Cuckoo having become quite popular for the loud cuckoo noise it creates. In flight the cuckoo resembles the hawk, with long and slender wings. Common Cuckoos can further be distinguished by their long tails, long necks, and earthen tone colours. Other species of cuckoo have more flamboyant plumage. Cuckoo birds lay their eggs in the nest of another bird, usually discarding an existing egg from that nest. The cuckoo bird will lay an egg closely resembling that of other birds in the region, providing a convincing replica for the unknowing, adoptive parent. Cuckoos are migratory birds and can be found in parts of Europe, Africa and South America.
