HELP INDEX NEXT UP PREVIOUS FEEDBACK ATG Rainbow Bird

Sorry, No Picture! The rainbow bird is a species of bee-eater. Brightly coloured, these birds have a taste for the dangerous. Feeding on stinging insects such as bees and wasps, the bee-eater has a resistance to their venom and has a habitual way of removing the stinger. By rubbing the abdomen and tapping the insect the bee-eater is able to dislodge the sting before consumption. Ranging in size from 6 to 14 inches, the plumage of the bee-eater is predominantly green, accented by red, yellow and blue. The rainbow bird can be found in Australia. [BM] {FW}
