The hornbill has a very peculiar appearance. This bird, related to the toucan, has an extremely large bill. In many species of hornbill this large beak is further emphasized by a large casque on the upper surface. One would imagine that this casque and bill would make the hornbill top heavy and uncoordinated. But, in fact, the casque is usually made of a very soft material. MORE! [BM] {FW}
