Hoopoe

The hoopoe bird is a lovely bird. Reaching 1 ft in length, the hoopoe has a gently curved bill of approximately 2 inches in length. The head is set with a large crown of feathers and the wings and tail are marked by strong black and white bars. The body plumage is colourful. The low 'hoop-hoop-hoop' call of the hoopoe bird can be heard in dry, open woodlands. This migratory bird is found in parts of Europe, Africa and Asia. [BM] {FW}
