Sorry, No Picture! The terek is a sandpiper. Sandpipers belong to the family of birds known as waders. Wading through the water on long legs, sandpipers feed on small animals, such as worms, mollusks, mussels and fish. In general, sandpipers have long bills and earthen toned plumage which aids in camouflage. The terek sandpiper can be distinguished by its gently upturned bill.
