Skua
Skuas are closely related to terns and gulls, however they are larger and more fierce. The
bill of the skua has a hook and the feet are armed with sharp claws. Skua attack small
animals and viciously tear them apart. Even in defence of their eggs and young, skua are
known to attack humans and are able to stun a grown man with a diving attack. In North
America the skua is known as the 'jaeger', which is German for hunter. MORE!
