Sorry, No Picture! The smallest member of the snipe family is the jack snipe. It reaches a length of 7.5 inches, with a bill measuring 1.5 inches in length. Like other snipe, the Jack snipe has a pointed bill, with short neck and short legs. The eyes are well set back and the plumage is mottled in varying shades of brown and white, highlighted by metallic green and purple. The Jack snipe can be found breeding in northeast Europe and the northern regions of Asia. [BM] {FW}
